Keaton :: 2020 Senior

Congratulations on your graduation, Keaton and Class of 2020! I knew you could do it. Graduating? Yep. Totally. Hanging in there for a full senior session of photos for your mom? That we were not sure about. But you did it. We are all proud of you. And your mom is really happy. I bet you would even say…it wasn’t that bad. Right? I won’t tell everyone why, but at the beginning of the day, Keaton’s mom told me a story that made it clear…he owed her. Ok I might tell everyone why!!

Ok I’ll just kiiind of tell them why. Keaton managed to dodge picture day for his junior year school photo. His mom’s one reliable opportunity to get a photo of him and…he dodged. Senior photo time rolls around and…enter Bailey. Voila! Didn’t even hurt. You look good, Keaton. You don’t look like a picture dodger at all!!

I alllllways tell people that the more we take photos, the more fun we have and the more fun we look. Doesn’t Keaton look fun?!!?! I can say from experience. Keaton = fun. Would he say the same about me? That would be a yessss……if I’m listening for sure a yes.

I shouldn’t spend his whole blog post giving him a hard time. I’m sorry. He’s also really cool and a speedy superstar. (See below.)

Congratulations, Keaton! 🙂 You fly fast and so do the good times. Enjoy!

Hannah :: 2020 Senior

Resuming blog party for the class of 2020 with……..Hannah!

Heading off to do Hannah’s session last summer was just like a vacation for me. I was half way through my pregnancy with Irene and had a 1.5 year old to entertain and clean up after. How Hannah looks in this first photo from her session…that’s how I felt driving to Roseau with no car seats! (: Not that I don’t love mommy time of course! Hoping Hannah doesn’t describe me as “overly excited” that day, but hey, we had all the fun.

Turns out Hannah’s Grandma has a FANTASTIC yard. Allll the dreamy greens thanks to her.

Gorgeous, Hannah!!

Sweet. Fun. Lovely. Basically a photographer’s dream.

It was fair week, so we had to!! Not pictured: the 30 times Hannah was almost trampled or knocked over by folks heading to the food stands…thanks for braving this out. You. Crushed. It. Congratulations Hannah! Happy hugs from me to you!! (Imaginary hugs. Because what if you don’t remember me at first and don’t feel that we are on hug level friendship…or what if one of us has COVID… imaginary hugs, real love.)

Josie :: 2020 Senior

Once again I’ve been away from my blog for too long. Our plump little (almost) 6 month old has been a delightful distraction! But I’m back and ready to celebrate the ultra cute Josie!

Her session was on a perfect summer evening, and I think I lost (and then found) my bug spray twenty times. Josie doesn’t let it show at all in her photos, but the mosquitos were many and mighty! I should just get a bug spray lanyard so I don’t lose it. (Do those exist?) Or holster. Or a tank of it I can wear on my back. Maybe Josie needs one as a gift for her graduation. Or maybe she doesn’t because she has big plans to do more than just hang out near water and look gorgeous. But right now, let’s just think about this pretty evening where that’s what we did.

It’s usually pretty early on in a session where it starts to feel like we are just out for fun. The more kids I have (I’m only on #2 and I’m already saying this. Yikes!), the more I feel like this time with seniors is my fun evening out. I love learning what they’re interested in, getting to know their stories, hearing what they love about life as it is right now or what they are excited for ahead.

You have my word. I will not spray the bees!

Ok this right here. I follow Josie’s mama on Instagram and saw the CUTEST post of Josie and her dad sharing this sport over the years. This is the special stuff. This is the good stuff. I am always here for the photos with the ones who love us the best.

You will never regret taking photos with your family. These two are so cute. Thank you for inviting me into a glimpse of your blessed story, your special year. Hang on to each other, and hang in there. Here’s to Josie!

🙂 Bailey

Kayla :: 2020 Senior

Staying positive here, I’ll just keep showing off my favorite 2020 seniors. Kayla is obviously a-dorable. Seriously effortless. The whole session. Here’s to you, sweet girl!

I am ALL about bringing your fam to your session. Get them in your pictures. Every chance you can. Get photos with the ones you love!

Sunflowers. Had to! 🙂 Congratulations, Kayla! All my love to you and the class of 2020.

Kaleb :: 2020 Senior

For someone who doesn’t looooove having their picture taken, this guy managed to not only survive my **ehem** enthusiasm for the trails and fall colors but crushed the natural smile and relaxed look. You rock, Kaleb. Apparently everyone thinks so, because I’m pretty sure I remember hearing something about him being Homecoming King. So anyway…

Ok what follows has NOTHING to do with Kaleb’s session or our online celebration of him and his final year! Now that you’ve been warned, I just couldn’t help but laugh when my YouTube suggested songs rotated to this. I changed tabs and saw this AMAZING collage of images that I should probably keep handy for this summer’s inspiration….no?? No…. No. Don’t worry. It won’t start playing if you click on it.

So maybe the point is…if you don’t love photos but you’re a senior and you HAVE to….you can lean on me. I’ll get us through.

Ok let’s just think about Kaleb now.
